Our commitment to a sustainable transport future in New Zealand was amplified by a question my grandson asked me a couple of years ago. His question was, "Ouma, what is Earth going to look like when I'm grown up? Is there going to be anything left?"

I was amazed that at 8, he was already thinking about what we are doing to our planet and how it will impact life when he's an adult. As an 8-year-old back in the early '70s, we never gave any of this a thought, so I vowed to do everything in my power to help create a better future for him and future generations.

Being part of a global organisation that embraces sustainability made it easy to honour my commitment. However, when I decided to embark on this new venture, I wondered how I would still keep this promise to him. This is how: support manufacturers and partners dedicated to zero-emissions manufacturing and social responsibility as part of their core values. Offer renewable energy sources where possible to relieve the impact on the grid and the use of fossil fuels.

New Zealand's target to achieve net zero emissions of all greenhouse gases (GHG) by 2050 requires change from all of us. Even if you think your contribution is insignificant, it all adds up to achieving our targets.
